Routine Care
For routine check-ups, and when your child is unwell or needs urgent care requiring a same day appointment, please book online at optimal.ky or contact the clinic during opening hours at (345) 745 7070.
If there are no appointment slots visible on line and your child needs to be seen the same day, there is often availability to see Dr Watkin if you just turn up to the clinic, and she is always delighted to do her best to accommodate. However, if you can phone the clinic in advance, it is much easier.
Dr Watkin will always see urgent patients immediately and all sick children the same day. Obviously booked appointments are seen at their booked time and so walk-in patients might need to be a teeny bit patient.
Out-of-hours Urgent Care
Urgent Care Paediatrician in Cayman
Urgent care is for conditions that need treatment within 24 hours but are not life-threatening emergencies. The majority can be seen during regular hours by your Optimal paediatrician.
Dr Sara Watkin lives permanently in Grand Cayman and only a short drive to the clinic. Whilst on island, Dr Watkin is permanently on call for deliveries and neonatal patients, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Emergency Care
Emergency care is required for life-threatening situations that need immediate medical attention.For emergencies, such as (this list is not exhaustive):
- Difficulty breathing
- Seizure
- Head injury
- Loss of consciousness
- Severe abdominal pain
Go to George Town Hospital (HSA) Accident & Emergency, or dial 911.
Please let them know who your Paediatrician in Grand Cayman is and they will call the Optimal on call Paediatrician if appropriate.
