1998 General Internship – Hospital Pulido Valente, Lisbon
2002 Vocational Training in General Practice – ARS Évora, Portugal
2004 Postgraduate Course in Gastroenterology (for GPs)
2006 Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nutrition – Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa
2016 Travel Medicine Course – London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine

General Practitioner Experience

I began my medical career in Portugal, working within community-based and long-term care services before moving to the United Kingdom in 2013. For over a decade, I have served as a General Practitioner with Nuffield Health and Bupa Health, providing a full range of GP services, including general family medicine, preventive care, health assessments, preventive screenings, and chronic disease management in both face-to-face and virtual settings.

In 2017, I became Lead GP at Nuffield Nomura Bank Private Clinic, where I provided clinical leadership, governance oversight, and mentoring for a team of doctors, ensuring consistently high standards of patient care, with a focus on both primary prevention and wellness, as well as general services. Earlier in my career, I also held the role of Clinical Director at the Unidade de Longa Duração de Aguiar in Portugal, leading a multidisciplinary team caring for patients with complex rehabilitation and continuing care needs, where a whole person approach was paramount.

Through these varied experiences, I have developed a comprehensive and person-centred approach to medicine, integrating clinical science with empathy, education, and prevention. My clinical interests include cardiometabolic health, cancer prevention, mental wellbeing, and musculoskeletal health, alongside lifestyle medicine and the management of chronic conditions.
