Introduction

We are seeking a number of passionate, patient-centric medical specialists who wish to explore joining our team in the Cayman Islands.  Working from our new 8,000sqft Optimal Healthcare Medical Centre, with admitting rights to local hospitals where appropriate, you’ll provide the very best care to an amazing population, in an unhurried manner, for a fantastic employer.

Who are we seeking?

Firstly, we established Optimal Healthcare under the strong belief that INTEGRITY is the single most important characteristic and indeed responsibility of those privileged to work in healthcare. Secondly, you’ll have a health-first attitude, rather than a sickness and billing one. To ensure you can, the role will allow you appropriate time to mange each patient properly, with a typical appointment time of 30 minutes (if you have worked in the NHS, you’ll understand truly what that means). You will be supported by high calibre nursing staff, state of the art equipment, lab services, and IT support including AI generated medical notes if you wish. You’ll hold a patient population that is significantly smaller than you’ve been used to, because we REALLY want you to focus on their health. You need the time and support to do that. You can be a Specialist in the Cayman Islands or an Optimal Specialist in the Cayman Islands. They are not the same thing. We’d be very happy to explain why.

Optimal Healthcare Medical Centre

We are in the final moments of completion of 8,000sqft of facility, designed to the very latest standards, with spacious mixed consultation space, including consulting-treatment room suites, and even community health promotion facilities too. Our vision is to see this become a vibrant hub, focused on the very best evidence-based medicine, and devoted to our mission of transforming health and healthcare alike! Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution and current licensure* to practice as a specialist.
• At least 5 years experience at consultant level
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate patients and their families toward healthier lifestyles.
• Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a diverse patient caseload.

*We are able to recruit professionals fully trained e.g. CCT, and licensed in at least one of 7 accepted jurisdictions, being United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand or Jamaica.

Position Terms & Conditions

• Basic salary up to $240,000 Cayman Islands Dollars per annum
• Additional incentive scheme (to be disclosed in personal discussions)
• 50% contributory, 50% non-contributory Health Insurance (mandatory by Law)
• 50% contributory, 50% non-contributory Pension, based on a capped maximum (mandatory by Law)
• 5 days paid study leave (excludes costs)
• 12 Public Holidays per annum
• Vacation leave (to be disclosed in personal discussions)
• Flexible working arrangements (to be disclosed in personal discussions)

Note: The incentive scheme is NOT based on billing value. We want zero conflict of interest with the best interests of the patient, first and foremost. Let’s just say it’s a ‘healthy’ alternative and likely more rewarding!
